Twill denim uses a diagonal weave pattern — different from the tighter weave of traditional denim — producing a softer, smoother surface with a subtle texture. The result is a fabric that's breathable and more structured than regular denim but less formal than chinos. Mott & Bow's Mercer jeans use 10 oz twill with 20% comfort stretch, striking the balance between polished enough for the office and comfortable enough for all-day wear.

How much stretch do Twill Denim jeans have?
Mott & Bow's Twill Fabric (Mercer style) has a 20% comfort stretch factor — enough for full range of motion throughout the day without the jeans losing their shape or looking stretched out. The 2% elastane content provides recovery, so they return to their original form after sitting, bending, or extended wear. This stretch level is classified as "comfort stretch," designed for day-to-day wear, including the office, errands, and casual outings.
Are twill denim fabric jeans breathable?

What inseam lengths are available for the twill fabric jeans?
The Mercer is available in 30", 32", and 34" inseams. If you need a shorter length, a local tailor can hem them easily - the fabric responds well to alterations.
How do I care for my Mercer jeans to keep them looking their best?
Wash in cold water, tumble dry on low or air dry, wash only when needed - the more you wash, the more the fabric relaxes. For colored Mercers, especially lighter shades, cold water washing helps preserve the color.

The Slim is the most popular — fitted through the hip and leg with a 15.5" leg opening, long and lean silhouette flattering on most body types. The Straight offers a more relaxed cut through the hip and thigh with a consistent leg width — ideal for athletic builds. The Skinny is the most form-fitting, with a tapered leg that narrows from hip to hem. Slim is available in the widest color selection; Straight and Skinny have fewer color options. All three use the same 10 oz Mercer twill fabric with 20% comfort stretch.
