What premium actually means, by the person who created it
Mott & Bow was built out of frustration, and perfected through obsession
Discover what makes us differentthe brand
"I grew up in a family that had a denim manufacturing facility, and every summer I used to work there. I saw the ins and outs of the industry. As I grew up, I appreciated premium clothing, I just hated overpaying for it, and I knew I could deliver a premium product at an affordable price.
The goal of the brand is to create products that people reach for every single day."
Honesty
Alejandro grew up inside a denim factory. He knew the fabrics, the costs, the margins, and exactly where the industry was overcharging you. Mott & Bow exists because someone with that knowledge decided to do something about it.
But Better
We design fewer products on purpose. Every piece has to earn its place. We obsess over every detail, from the way a fabric is dyed to the way a seam sits. You may not spot them, but you'll feel the difference the moment you put our clothes on—and that's a Mott & Bow guarantee.
Become Yours
You know that first tee you grab from a fresh load of laundry? The jeans you reach for without thinking? That's what we're building toward. Not clothes that impress you once, but those that become your favorite.
I've always loved expensive things, but I hated paying for them. So I set out to create the premium products I loved, at a fairer price."
Designing is easy. You can sketch and sketch and sketch, make the products, throw them out there, and see what the customer might vote for. But when you're an item-focused, premium quality-focused brand, it takes a really long time to get to the premium product."
We're actively trying to design less items in the collection, because we want to focus on very few products that we can really excel at and make a difference. The pieces we put out there, we want them to be a favorite in the consumer's closet"
— ALEJANDROSlim Chino Pants
“Chinos are one of the most versatile pants in a man's wardrobe. They can be used for the office, at night and on weekends.
The fabric we chose was medium weight, so it’s wearable year-round, and we made them look lived-in, because I like the slightly worn-in look.
With the chino, you can look well put, but also like you're not trying. It's very American, and it did phenomenally well.”
“Chinos are a classic pant, kind of tied to that East Coast preppy look. They are a quintessential piece in a man’s wardrobe, I believe every man should have one in his closet. They can be dressed up or dressed down: pair them with a sports jacket and a button-down, with a polo, with an untucked t-shirt for a casual look, or even go golfing in them. There are so many different ways to work these pants into your lifestyle and into your wardrobe.”
- MARITATech Pants
“The new trend in the clothing industry is going toward performance fabric, usually polyester-based, because the advances in technology have improved it and made it breathable. We wanted to give that option to the consumer. Our Tech Pants look more like a trouser, with the back pockets not visually exposed, and overall the same design as the Chinos".
- ALEJANDROTravel Pants
“When traveling, people only want to take one or two pants. Our Travel Pants are no hassle to take care of, they don't wrinkle easily. They’re a true 5-pocket pant, with visible pockets. It’s the same performance fabric as the Tech Pants, but a completely different look”.
