What premium actually means, by the person who created it
Mott & Bow was built out of frustration, and perfected through obsession
Discover what makes us differentthe brand
"I grew up in a family that had a denim manufacturing facility, and every summer I used to work there. I saw the ins and outs of the industry. As I grew up, I appreciated premium clothing, I just hated overpaying for it, and I knew I could deliver a premium product at an affordable price.
The goal of the brand is to create products that people reach for every single day."
Honesty
Alejandro grew up inside a denim factory. He knew the fabrics, the costs, the margins, and exactly where the industry was overcharging you. Mott & Bow exists because someone with that knowledge decided to do something about it.
But Better
We design fewer products on purpose. Every piece has to earn its place. We obsess over every detail, from the way a fabric is dyed to the way a seam sits. You may not spot them, but you'll feel the difference the moment you put our clothes on—and that's a Mott & Bow guarantee.
Become Yours
You know that first tee you grab from a fresh load of laundry? The jeans you reach for without thinking? That's what we're building toward. Not clothes that impress you once, but those that become your favorite.
I've always loved expensive things, but I hated paying for them. So I set out to create the premium products I loved, at a fairer price."
Designing is easy. You can sketch and sketch and sketch, make the products, throw them out there, and see what the customer might vote for. But when you're an item-focused, premium quality-focused brand, it takes a really long time to get to the premium product."
We're actively trying to design less items in the collection, because we want to focus on very few products that we can really excel at and make a difference. The pieces we put out there, we want them to be a favorite in the consumer's closet"
— ALEJANDROFor Women
“The fit on these ones is based on men, so they’re a little bit straighter and sit lower on the waist, but that’s what gives you that sexy, borrowed-from-his-closet feel.
These chinos create a really cool, casual look. Pair them with one of our t-shirts and a tennis shoe, or if you want to dress it up, wear them with a beautiful heel, a simple t-shirt, and some jewelry, and you’re good to go for dinner. You don’t need to fuss about it or overthink it.
My favorite way to wear this chino would probably be with a tee, a classic denim jacket, and a cool sneaker. It gives you that preppy look that never really goes away and can take you so many different places. That would have been my look when I lived in California—I would dress like that to go to wine country for the day.”
Knit Pants
“These pants are actually your version of a trouser pant, but in a knit fabrication, which means that they will give more and be more comfortable to wear than a khaki trouser would be.
They’re so perfect for more dressed-up looks: you can dress them up with a blazer, or you can obviously wear them casually with a denim jacket and a t-shirt, depending on where you're going.
I’ve been wearing them while traveling, and I look more put together, not like I’m just wearing leggings like we all used to. They’re very comfortable because they’re not binding anywhere, thanks to the nice, wider waistband with elastic. They literally give and grow with you as needed.
The other thing I love is the fit. The seams in the front and the back of the leg sculpt your body beautifully. I felt like I looked two inches taller, even when wearing sneakers.
The fabric also really holds its shape throughout the hours. I would call these the “9 to dine” pants, because they will take you through the day and through your travels”.
"Once you touch the fabric of these and put them on, you won't want to take them off. When I get back from work and I just want to relax and get comfortable, these are my go-to: they are just so amazing to wear. I can run around in them in town, or I can have brunch with my girlfriends in them, by adding a tee, a denim jacket over it, and some cool sneakers.
You can also make them more athletic. If you want to go for a long walk, for example, they're perfect because they're breathable—and, again, the fabric is so light and so comfortable that you don't even feel like you're wearing anything, honestly.
I also like that they're cropped and not full length because they show your sneakers, and don't make you too hot. Once you put them on, you won't take them off: trust me, guaranteed."
