What premium actually means, by the person who created it

Mott & Bow was built out of frustration, and perfected through obsession

In his words
The man behind
the brand

"I grew up in a family that had a denim manufacturing facility, and every summer I used to work there. I saw the ins and outs of the industry. As I grew up, I appreciated premium clothing, I just hated overpaying for it, and I knew I could deliver a premium product at an affordable price.

The goal of the brand is to create products that people reach for every single day."

What We Mean When We Say  "Built Different"
01
Heritage Meets
Honesty

Alejandro grew up inside a denim factory. He knew the fabrics, the costs, the margins, and exactly where the industry was overcharging you. Mott & Bow exists because someone with that knowledge decided to do something about it.

02
Less,
But Better

We design fewer products on purpose. Every piece has to earn its place. We obsess over every detail, from the way a fabric is dyed to the way a seam sits. You may not spot them, but you'll feel the difference the moment you put our clothes on—and that's a Mott & Bow guarantee.

03
The Clothes
Become Yours

You know that first tee you grab from a fresh load of laundry? The jeans you reach for without thinking? That's what we're building toward. Not clothes that impress you once, but those that become your favorite.

He Built the Brand. She Designs Every Piece.

"

I've always loved expensive things, but I hated paying for them. So I set out to create the premium products I loved, at a fairer price."

Marita Aikonen
"

Designing is easy. You can sketch and sketch and sketch, make the products, throw them out there, and see what the customer might vote for. But when you're an item-focused, premium quality-focused brand, it takes a really long time to get to the premium product."

— MARITA AIKONEN, Director of Design, Product Development and Sourcing

Our founder's favorites
"

We're actively trying to design less items in the collection, because we want to focus on very few products that we can really excel at and make a difference. The pieces we put out there, we want them to be a favorite in the consumer's closet"

the Ridge Jeans
The Ridge
Jeans

“This is my favorite pair from the women’s line. It’s great for a classic look, since it’s dark with subtle shading. It’s very classy and can be dressed up or down.”

- ALEJANDRO

“I like cuffing it up so that it looks cool with sneakers.”

“This is a very different fit from what we had before. My favorite is the dark wash. It gives me the opportunity to dress it up or down, and makes it the dress up jean in my closet.”

“The fabric itself has a good amount of stretch. Whether you have bigger or slimmer thighs, it will just mold to your body. And the one thing that we always go back to is that your booty needs to look good. If you don't have a booty that is stopping people when they walk by you, it’s not a Mott & Bow pair…”

You'll love the way you look in these
The ORCHARD
jeans

“Our customers really like two things about this fit (which is the same as the Jane): the shape that it gives you, and the comfort. You can literally travel across the country in this one, and you won’t feel like it’s digging in, or like you need to take it off right away, when you get off the plane. I know that a lot of women use this one to travel, and it keeps you looking well put together, so you’re good to go from the airport to wherever you need to be, without changing”.
